The Alchemy of Thoughts
Have you ever wondered, where do thoughts come from? What’s
the origin of them? Is it internal or external? What’s the purpose of thoughts?
Are they significant in our decision making? For sure, they are! Let us then
ponder more upon the marvel called thoughts and the way they shape us and our
world.
As I began writing this article, right after three lines
that my eyes noticed an empty cat food container kept in front of me. An idea
immediately entered, ‘Hey, I can make a terrarium out of that bottle. The next
five minutes I spent in searching the possible plants, the kind of soil, the
process. Which took me to search what is ‘fine-grained gravel soil’. And then I
realised, hey, right now, I am writing an article. Let me think about the
terrarium when I would be actually creating it.
That’s how fluttering thoughts are and can be. One thought
deviated me. Another brought me back to the topic. And in the middle, I low key
decided - my possible next creative endeavour.
A single thought can make or break a person. And that’s why
it is super significant as a topic.
Anatomy of thought
Science and spirituality say that even thoughts are made up
of five elements. Whatever that we eat, not only builds all cells of our body,
but the gist of all that nutrition ultimately goes to our brain – resulting in
formation of both our thoughts and emotions.
They say that thoughts too are energy. And therefore, they
can neither be created out of nothing, nor destroyed. They merely change their
form and intensity as energy.
Same like matter, thoughts too are solid, liquid and gaseous
in form. Few are rock solid. They provide us determination. Few are liquid.
They channelize our emotions. Few are gaseous. They either are momentary, or we
simply let them pass as they don’t hold much significance.
Yet, thoughts for sure derive us to act – immediately or in
the longer run! And therefore, totally affect our life. So, it is crucial to
understand how they originate, what ignites them, what builds them, how they
get stored for maybe later, how they cause a chain reaction of other thoughts
to create a series of actions, how they help us manifest good or bad reality,
how they just run out of their life when their purpose is done; and how to
control them or understand them to have a conscious life framed along with our
higher self.
How thoughts originate?
The first spark of light, the first sound in ether, the
first letter, the first thought. Who knows what’s the starting point of the
world. Is it garden of Eden? Is it the big bang? Is it God himself seeding us
with life or idea? Is it consciousness that gives life to all thoughts in all
forms? Is it intuition that makes one take subtle decisions? It is energy
changing its shape – condensing from thin air – becoming an emotion, a drop of
rain – a thought? How do thoughts originate?
Maybe it is our higher self that time and again guides us
and seeds our minds with idea. Possibly the angel and demon sitting on either
shoulder of a human are two sides of the same coin – a mind looking at a single
event from opposite directions -leading to opposite outcomes. It’s incredible –
how two contrasting thoughts not just originate but have weight at the same
time.
It's even more incredible how human minds keep on processing
good or bad, contrasting or supporting – uncountable, never-ending thoughts –
all the time.
We think about things even while sleeping. That’s why so
many people talk in sleep. That’s why we get dreams. Our mind keeps on
processing. The thoughts keep on originating – consciously or sub-consciously
or even un-consciously.
Can thoughts be a mere scientific or biological phenomenon
or are there deeper reasons than that for thoughts to originate in a certain
way or carry a certain charge? Doesn’t that charge represent energy? What fills
the language to the charge? What makes it comprehensible?
Of course, not all thoughts deserve our time and attention.
The more you would churn, the deeper you would try to get; the lesser thoughts
would interrupt the flow. The more you remain upon the surface, the more
turbulent waves or thoughts that would impact your flow.
Of course, high tides and low tides also have a purpose
here. Both literally – Moon impacts our creative faculty; and metaphorically –
tides representing our emotions or hormonal flow or presence in a situation or
our attachment to someone or something. Those too would be reactive thoughts
though. Assuming that stimulus is already there. How about those thoughts that
just rise out of nothing. No pre-thought. They just come to mind or heart.
Many writers or impulsive actors tap into that. Many master
artists dedicate their entire work to exactly that. But we are not just
speaking about inspiration or ideas. Those can still be accounted to maybe
higher dimensions. Or even collective consciousness.
What about thoughts that have no charge to them?
Random thoughts that may or may not be significant. Just sit
for a bit silently without any distractions. Just observe your thoughts.
Initially there would be random day-today thoughts. Then maybe of your major
concerns. Then you may miss someone or something. Maybe you connect with
divine. Maybe you do manage to reach the state of thinking nothing. Yet our
minds hardly remain without thoughts. Sooner or later, you find yet another
thought, and then another. And in no time you would have even forgotten that
you had to just observe your thoughts, not really engage with them.
That still is nature of thoughts. We are discussing the
origin part? How are thoughts created?
Science though now has proper answers as to which segment of
our mind generates thought. Which all neurons that it passes through. Which all
atoms decide to first connect together in how much consistency and how they
flow through neural pathways resulting in everything we think, act or do.
I still remain curious – much more than the process or their
path; but the origin itself? The first seed. The first amber that lights a
fire. The first drop that creates water. the very first grain particle that
creates entirety of earth. And of course, the permutation and combination later
on… the chain of events… the action, reaction… list goes on!
What ignites thoughts? (Original or reactive)
Who exactly plants any thought in our heads?
One source can be collective consciousness? The all
pervasive, all knowing, all connected singularity that knows which individual
must be prepped up with what thought. And hence, we get sudden ideas or
thoughts or inspirations or so.
Another can be society. Our reaction to it. Humans
after all learn each and everything by copying. Everything from the way we walk
to the clothes we wear to the food we eat to our very language. Everything that
we do is by mimicking someone or the other. Everything in us is conditioned –
may it be our beliefs or gender.
And yet, there must have been the first time for everything.
There still is. That’s how we evolve. That’s how happen revolutions and
changes. The first-time fire was found, or how eventually Rome got built, or
civilizations evolved or people learned skills, technology came into existence;
and change goes on.
The first time for everything remains memorable. As copy or
not, it’s a new experience. Even at the level of thoughts or experimentations,
or the best – getting successful at those experimentations, or finding solution
to an impossible problem. Maybe we are powerful enough to create our own
thoughts. Each individual holding an entirety of universe. With numerous
microbes and atoms and our own known and known – physical, psychological,
spiritual, emotional, inter-dimensional functionalities.
Hinduism gives a theory of each of us hosting the trinity
within us. And hence we all have the energy of Bhrahma with-in us –
responsible to create thoughts – good or bad for us or the world.
Christianity says that it’s rather God that takes
Adam and introduces him to each and every object in the world. And then angels
come and ensure the system at its place. and keep a check upon people’s
thoughts and the outcome that they can expect based upon that.
Buddhism says that there is no external reality. That
everything happening around is but an illusion. That everything that we
perceive to be reality is but a figment of our imagination and therefore is but
a thought. And therefore, spirituality focuses so much upon becoming
thoughtless. As the lesser thoughts you would have, the lesser the noise.
Lesser would you manifest in terms of karma around. And eventually you would
become so thoughtless, that you won’t have any good or bad emotion/desire/act/thought
– left for anyone or anything around. Hence, you would in a way attain nirvana.
As that’s what you would be able to manifest then – from thoughtlessness to
nothingness. Kind of contrary to ‘I think, therefore I am’. But here, ‘I no
more think, and therefore I am not there’. To kill the ‘I’/ego is therefore the
biggest test of spirituality and the most intense loop that even many of
renowned souls get struck at.
The more you would know, the more you would understand that
you don’t know anything. That’s the mystery of life. That’s what makes you
humble. That’s how you becoming thoughtless.
By first accepting, observing, processing, churning,
purging, selecting, deflecting thoughts. Ultimately, stepping out of the
illusion of life – the world of thoughts. Later you see the tapestry of your
life lived. But it won’t be yours. It would be a part of universal thought. Or
who knows?
Maybe we too are part of someone’s thoughts? Maybe we
are indeed living in someone’s dreams or fantasy, or even nightmare for that
matter. Who is to say, we are not programme running in someone’s laptop.
Maybe, this is all but a game that we take so seriously.
Maybe people who take short cuts or are given sudden leaps are indeed smarter.
Or who knows they be given special codes or instructions in secret chat
rooms as their thoughts by some other master players whom we consider Gods
but who are only playing with us at some other macro level virtual reality
game. And here we are thinking ‘Oh, we thought of something so epic’, or ‘Woah!
What a smart idea that guy came up with!’
Or maybe, there is indeed some director of all that’s
happening around. And we are mere characters in that story. I just wonder, why
does the director send a few characters in such long-term stagnant roles – like
comma or diseases or traumas or life time spirals of similar themes… why such
intense highs and lows? But that’s what makes a play worth it.
Yet consider the number of stories being played all around.
Maybe we all are but mosquitoes caught in the inter woven webs of many spiders.
Spiders whose web are woven with stories, with random roles. And we just get
struck and then we must perform the story, the woven character, the
role. And though the spider would eventually eat us all; but till then, we have
to suffer the gooey stuff of the web called life!
Or probably, life is not that literal after all, and it is
rather cosmic in nature. That our minds gave shapes and forms to various
energies – just to understand them better. And we evolve this way – by having
concrete ideas about signifiers and signified with various languages to guide. Ultimately,
we are giving fancy colors, names, categories and entities to various
mathematical frequencies. Same like we assume ‘x’ or ‘y’ to derive a result in
algebra; like so – we treat life! And the first thought further propagated into
all these thoughts – what we see as various factors adding up to be called
life.
Maybe Adishakti too is not just energy, but the first mother
thought itself. The number One after Zero in binary terms. And we all are
indeed programmes coded with distinct codes in zeroes and ones! Is that how we
are built? Is that how our thoughts also develop?
How are thoughts built?
Origin can be howsoever. We don’t even know our own origin.
Or the purpose of it. Yet, we do know how we retain the life we get. How we
build on. By constant nutrition. With what we consume through our senses and
later process it. Thoughts too build on exactly like that.
First the amber occurs and then it grows – the fire! Or it
flows – the river! Right from the initial drop. Till it becomes an ocean. Or
maybe, it gets channelized and made to be used on the way somewhere.
Yet, the process is the same for each thought. It’s like a
demon that keeps on needing more and more add-ons to grow in size or develop
structure. Rare are the thoughts that remain intact in themselves… mostly,
there is the body part to an intro, followed by a conclusion. Or else, a pros
and cons list. Or even a for and against notion. It can even be a stream of
consciousness. A series of abstract thoughts – somehow knitted together. But
our mind is crazy talented in connecting the dots. It finds patterns, creates
lines out of dots and then they become spheres and hence they change – the very
dimensions!
Biologically speaking, thoughts too need the same five
elements and the same consumption-sources that our physical body needs. Like
our skin needs touch or tongue needs taste or eyes prefer aesthetics or ears
like sweet sounds and so on. Like so with thoughts.
First, the better we eat, the better be our thoughts. Not
just in terms of quality, but also in terms of intentions and vibes – may it be
at the time of cooking or at the time of consumption.
Secondly, same like our senses, our thoughts too feel or
think all those emotions. Good taste for the tongue is actually fuelled or
experienced by thoughts as well. A good touch though begins with cell’s memory
or sensations but right alongside is neuron passageway connected – transmitting
messages, recording stuff, maybe writing poetry or feeling good at the same
time.
Everything that we consume, the crème of it goes to our mind
and that’s what creates our thoughts and emotions. An upset stomach makes one
irritable and less creative and probably even less active in terms of ideas. A
full stomach at night may result in an overworking body and mind resulting in
heart-burns and nightmares at night. Basically, our physical body and mental
body are both connected. And everything we consume or do – totally impacts and
is impacted by our thoughts.
Likewise, a bad day may result in one having bad thoughts
about everything and everyone. And it may all feel entirely different on a
different day under better circumstances.
I recently found a great job right on new year. Position of
leadership, decent paying with even a possibility of making profit. In a single
day, I found myself in so much of gratitude, singing at the top of my voice,
feeling all my life was actually built for that very job, building plans of
next few months, cancelling my previous plans and what not. In two days, I
found the founder to be a literal fool, with no boundary between his personal
and professional life, no appreciation for intellect or education and an
inflated ego with no spine to actually hold it. In two days, I left the job.
And suddenly, all my earlier thoughts seemed so silly to me. I though realized
the value of it all. Yet, my first reaction to both the situations in a span of
two days was so opposite that I felt like a fool myself.
Yet, both of those selves were mine. And both of those
thought flows were also mine. What changed was the external circumstance.
Then, it was up to me – how to make sense of it. I had three
choices. To stick to the first flow and forget those two-four days. Or, to
forget the first and get drowned in doom and choose the second state. Or else,
to carry the optimism of first, be proud to have taken stand for myself
regardless of temptation and be compassionate for the second state as after all
I am human.
And all that processing finally gave me a way more evolved,
mature, confident and chiselled self. I realised, ‘Hey, I am no- more a people
pleaser like before. Nor I give into my situations anymore. Regardless of the
reward, I have guts enough to stand for my beliefs. Due to my earlier
experiences, I can now see red flags in only two meets. And guess what, I no-more
let the red flags go, hoping for the goodness in another to triumph. No, I call
out wrong for wrong though politely, still firmly. And then, I take quick
decision immediately, without creating any scene. I no-more react. I respond. I
need not take out my anger on others. Rather empathy and experience in me have
taught me to understand the phase the other is coming from. But I don’t let my
mental peace or time and energy become the cost of it. It all seems like a win
to me. Not to say that I am perfect. Not even close. But I am evolving. And to
me, all these things mean so much both as a person and a professional self.’
That’s the beauty of processing thoughts. It helps us become
better people. It takes out what matters and everything that is no more
required – it discards!
How thoughts get processed?
That brings us to a beautiful question – first, how do
thoughts process? And also, how can we process them more consciously to get the
most optimum results!
Let’s focus upon our processing device first. The less
crowded it be inside, the easier it gets to process anything. Multi-tasking has
never been my cup of tea. Max I can do is have a background music and do
anything. Rather, that’s the only multi-tasking I can do. And even there, if
lyrics come, my focus gets gone and I instead shift to singing or getting into
that emotion. But that’s just me. I only do one thing at a time – with hundred
percent focus.
And that is what I believe should be the approach towards
processing our thoughts as well. The more tabs open in a window, the slower the
speed would be. The fuller a device is, the lesser efficient it would. So, it
is extremely essential to continuously update our thinking pattern, discard
old, unnecessary memories, beliefs, experiences; retain the useful or gists of
past experiences and try to remain a clean slate – hollow and empty – for new
ideas, thoughts, way of functioning to enter in.
All that is again a process. Doesn’t happen in a single day.
Most of the people don’t even think about these things. They waste their time
in gossip, or cheap dopamine hits. May it be reels or food or people to pass
time with, or talking just for the heck of it or watching any movies just for
entertainment or sleeping with anybody for lust.
I am not calling these things to be wrong. But I do
understand the impact of these all upon processing of our thoughts. For after
all, thoughts are made up of all that we consume. And thoughts also get
impacted and impact what we do and experience. That reel you just watched of
someone and immediately compared your own life with – you actually have no idea
about what goes on behind the scene. The guy you just casually slept with, you
have no idea what energy, karma or beliefs you unconsciously absorbed in.
We are not just the product of our company. We are the
product of everything in and around us. Our environment, our community, our
friends, family, food, entertainment, dates, advertisements, overheard
conversations, books we read, nature we connect with, air we breath in, water
we drink and bath in. everything.
During my post graduate degree in English Literature, I had
a subject called ‘Literary Criticism’. An amazing teacher had taught us that
subject. It was difficult yet the most interesting. I never missed a single
class of that subject. And initially it was just super amazing to learn various
concepts like Feminism, Marxism, Structuralism, psycho-analytics, colonialism
and so on… it was a bit bothersome to quote all those philosophers everywhere
as the thinker in me wanted to write my own voice.
However, by the end of it, I realised what they were
teaching us essentially. They were teaching us to look at the same text with
multiple perspectives. Though their themes were limited but they still were
much much more than a singular perspective with which we would have ideally
seen any text.
All though, it did get a bit heavy at first. Imagine, I
could not appreciate an amazing movie like ‘Pretty woman’ back then, as the
feminist in me was super active and didn’t want the same damsel being saved by
a hero or something.
In the longer run however, I understood the process instead
of those limited themes. That one subject was simply a gift to not just the
literature student in me but also the human in me. For I learned looking at
anything in life – from multiple perspective. From various themes, across many
timelines, from various mentalities and ideologies. And therefore, I became
more empathetic and liberal towards so many things.
It also helped me figure out my own opinion about anything
better. For nothing after that was seen just from my point of view. It was
always considered from many angles and perspectives by my mind and therefore
had more probability of being right for me.
And ya, I do love the movie ‘Pretty woman’ now. Like I said,
no more limited. I can appreciate a romantic movie for what it is – without
bringing in the same themes everywhere. Yet, I can have an after analysis of
other movies or more woman empowered themes and such. Yet a good movie is a
good movie and sometimes the teenager girl in me gets alive again loving the
heart felt gestures of that guy and the rebel in me gets happy with the change
a mundane guy underwent when he came across someone wild and untameable and the
potential that lady always had which simply got chiselled when she met with the
right person and got support from people around her.
Look, I just flowed in the movie’s story. Aah thoughts! They
be so fluttery.
Coming back to the ‘processing part of thoughts’; the lesser
the tabs the better it be. The more the angles, the most optimum it be.
Its simple science. Every science is based upon multiple
experiments. And repetitions. And data processing. Ultimately reaching the end
result. Theory becomes fact. Fact becomes truth.
That’s the way our minds process thoughts as well. Just
that, at times, we tend to get into negative pools. Say, if we had a series of
failures in something in previous attempts, our thoughts would bring in doubts
even in the present or next attempt.
Chances are, we may fail again just because one, we
unconsciously fear the same. Or else, because we have still not succeeded, we
are bound to make our previous mistakes.
That’s where conscious processing gets essential. If our
mind would process any new situation same like the failed time, the result
would again be a failure. In order to make it a win, we need a different
technique.
And many a times it comes from a different perspective. May
it be you yourself who manage to find it through a book, an inspiration,
someone else who got success in the same thing. Or you can even hire someone
for the same when it comes to running a company. Not everyone can do
everything. A marketing person would be a pro at marketing, but a sales person
would know how to funnel and create leads into clients. A founder may have the
vision but a director would know the ideal strategy to convert a fancy vision
into functional profitable business or a grounded firm.
Like so, in our own life. Many people stay struck to their
limited beliefs. Until you won’t humble yourself to recognize that there are
always other more sensible ways at looking at a certain thing; you won’t really
learn much in life but be limited with your egoistic limiting mind set.
Why is A.I. evolving and growing at such an incredible pace?
Because it doesn’t have human ego and rigidities. It simply considers
information and view points for the same thing from all across the world. And
then it categorises, funnels and processes it all – into most suitable
solutions or outcomes for any question or topic.
What do we do? We complicate everything with muddled
thinking? Past impressions, traumas, memories, attachments, fears – so many
things impact our thoughts. Not saying, these are wrong. These are human and
amazing in their limits.
Yet, one needs to know the right place for emotion and the
right place for practicality. What to keep and retain in our head and what to
discard as unnecessary.
I had heard a podcast where the speaker said that if our
mind is our home, then trouble with us is that we don’t do the house-keeping of
our minds the right way. We keep the garbage bins right on our beds with trash
meaning the ill things people or our own mind talks about us, our fears, doubts
and worries. That we give our enemies a free entry to our homes and hardly
check with our real well wishers. Enemies being negative talks or memories and
traumas. Friends being our higher self, our confidence, our belief…
I don’t remember much of it. But being a Virgo, his talk
totally resonated with me. I realised how rightly he spoke about it. True, we
do give our enemies free access to our minds. We do carry everything
unnecessary to our beds. We do ban our own well wishers from being our guests
or rather becoming our family.
And that’s why though we try to have positive thoughts and
touch wood and all at any negative thought and try to be as optimistic as we
can about our goals; yet we don’t achieve them always at the expected time – as
there is an issue with the processing and application of those thoughts.
You may blame fate or time or external factors or society’s
texture. All of those things are true. Yet, we are talking about thoughts and
that’s the most significant part of what we can do about anything we really
want to do!
How thoughts manifest our reality?
In order to understand manifestation, we need to detach from
the idea of life’s physical form – as how we see. Instead, look at it like an
idea or an illusion or a thought.
Many even call it a game. But yeah, that hurts the
existentially troubled self in me. So, let’s just consider it as an idea for
now.
Now, imagine a painting. The best that you can imagine. If
you had a single canvas and had the artistic ability of the entire cosmos –
what would you have created? If you had the ability to to replicate your exact imagination upon
your canvas – what would you have imagined? If you had the resources of the
entire world across all timelines – which colors would you have gone for. If
you had the audience and accessibility of the entire earth, where would you
have liked to showcase your finished painting? If you had the power to quote
and even get any amount for that painting – provided you had an intention to
sell it – how much would you have quoted for it? If you had one free access to
gift it to anyone in the world – whom would you have given it to? if you had to
paint about a single thing that you wish to change in the world – what would
you have painted?
Now, apply a similar approach upon your life!
Thing is, most of us, just never dare to step out of given
class or boundary or ability. A master is always insane – may it be with his
ideas or strategy or faith or belief or approach or reason for doing it. It is
those who are born out of fear and wish to play safe – who remain in the
middle. Not that it is wrong. But, bigger the business, bigger the risk. Bigger
a life goal, wilder the approach.
What needs is clarity. Silence. Blank canvas. Away from
those voices who judge, criticize, belittle, look down upon, try to show off,
try to leech off you. Away from controlling people and own inner critiques. You
need to be endless, boundless, almost delusional with faith and belief and
simply without fear – to actually manifest something epic.
And the most essential part is detachment. Because, the
ground rule of getting anything in life is to really wish for it, make efforts
for it, yet remain completely detached from it. The more you would chase
anything, the more it would run away from you. The more you let it be, give it
good vibes, put in your work, yet not chase and allow it to come to you – it
will for sure come to you. As whatever you want, also wants you. You just
haven’t surrendered enough. You simply haven’t reached that frequency as yet.
It needs ultimate love. Ultimate dedication. Excessive
planning, efforts, will, desire, action. Yet, ultimate detachment.
Also, not everybody needs to know your plans. People have
their own beliefs about world, and their own limitations. Plus, they may get
envious of you, they may try to block your results or demotivate you.
So, do speak about your work. Connect. But never with your
entire plan. And never with everyone.
Choose your people. Discuss only the relevant part with the
relevant person.
Half the times people fail is because they get happy just
with the possibility of achieving something. So, they build castles in air and
talk about it to everyone. And then don’t act. And then feel like a failure.
It’s amazing to have your end goal in mind. It’s even
awesome to have full faith and belief in it becoming successful. Yet talking
about it pre-maturely or worst, taking present decisions basing upon a future
possibility ends up in failing ultimately.
The more you hide the process, the better the results come
out to be. Just dazzle the world with the end result. Grind and hustle
silently. Manifest secretively and selectively.
Yet, is imagining enough? Is planning enough? Can things be
done just with faith and surrender and positive thoughts?
Actually yes! Not everything. But if one gets really good at
it and understand the energy of the field you wish to excel it – then actually
everything. As everything is but energy. The moment you truly deeply understand
it, you would be able to play with the atoms of it smoothly. You would be free
with your strokes and create a masterpiece – just with your thoughts.
But since our thoughts are so potent in power and can
actually help us manifest any life we desire; therefore, our mind’s default
setting comes with an off switch. We hardly remember it as a possibility. And
even when told, very few people be able to access it.
Also, the more the distortions, the more difficult it gets
to stay focussed and determined to achieve anything. And any manifestation
needs laser sharp focus and intensity of passion with equal detachment with the
outcome. All three can get dissuaded with distortions.
Like you are calmly working towards your goal and have a few
months’ timeline for it. But then you suddenly see a reel of someone or notice
an enemy attaining the same right now. There go your motivation and allotted
timeline. Either you want it now or you feel like a failure already, and hence
you have failed even in your future timeline already.
Or, if your goal needs you to work each day for an hour to
attain something in a month. But yesterday you fought with someone and
therefore were not in mood; today, you lack the creative inspiration for it;
tomorrow, you need to visit someone so won’t get time for it; and it goes on!
See, distraction again. A month would go by and another and you wouldn’t have
reached anywhere.
And you would realize that you have forgotten half your
goals or resources somewhere in the noise.
That noise becomes the biggest hinderance between us
achieving our goals!
And many great ideas, thoughts, visions, plans simply vanish
from existence!
How do thoughts seize to exist?
Where do those ideas go you ask? Back to their source – the Aether
I guess! Or maybe they get stored somewhere in the sub conscious and at times
come visit again when we are better prepared for it. Yet, many simply seize to
exist. They just disappear; they die on us.
Creative ideas – if not grasped there and then – simply pass
by. A poet had once written that a creative inspiration is like a wild animal –
which if not caught by the tail there and then, then it would be impossible to
catch it ever again. Few ideas do remain in our memory – but not word to word,
and never in that detail. It always feels like an ‘almost’ later on. Never
exactly what and how it wanted to come out as.
Then there are our plans of actions, new year resolutions,
monthly and annual goals, time tables, to do lists and what not! It is
factually proven that anything gets more possibility of happening once we write
it down upon a paper. Words are anyway spells. Yet, writing them down kind of
extends the life of our thoughts. It changes their form from psychological to
physical.
The same papers if torn or burned also help us release
emotions if that’s what we wish to purge us from. But that’s a discussion for
another time.
We are talking about thoughts that naturally die. Or simply
vanish from our minds.
The movie ‘Inside out’ had a beautiful concept about it,
where dedicated workers in the protagonist girl’s minds were sweeping off and
discarding old, unnecessary or forgotten memories. Even cherished ones at
times.
Come to think of it, how much we hear, learn, grasp, absorb
each second of our lives. Had we remembered everything we were taught just in
school syllabus, our minds would have been full of so much random unnecessary
information.
Or imagine remembering everything we overhear as we walk by
roads, in offices, in cafes, in buses. … anywhere in our everyday life. We
would have gone crazy had we remembered even a single percent of all those
memories or thoughts we think of in reciprocation to all that stimuli or
triggers.
We judge everything in our day to day. Yet not everything
deserves a space in our mind. Most of it is RAM that needs to be decluttered,
cleared every once in a while.
The amazing processer that our mind is – it does it
naturally.
Yet, our mind doesn’t always understand our priorities or
attachments. Many trauma survivors forget such beautiful parts of their life as
their mind gets busy in retaining what’s more important – that is the
day-to-day survival for them.
An accident may make a person forget everything about his
life before that accident as his mind in those moments went into shock and
utilized all its faculty in keeping the person alive by performing basic

But we are talking about not just memories but thoughts over
here. Thoughts can be about anything and everything. Yet, here we are
specifically discussing those thoughts that matter to us – specially when it
comes to us manifesting something.
Thing is, a person really dedicated about his/her goal –
would always ensure – not just to jot down all ideas, thoughts, processes; but
would also follow it through.
Yet, if any divine intervention, fate, destiny, external
circumstances do interfere – then, it was just not meant to be. Or else, it
would come back to him/her in some other shape or form. That’s how nature is.
Everything is balanced. What is meant for you would come to you. No one can
snatch it from you.
At least I like to believe so. Yet reality at times proves
to be otherwise. But then I remind myself that my perspective is limited to my
mind and this lifetime. As such, I hardly know what’s real and what’s not.
And the biggest key of manifestation in to believe in what
you wish for.
What to do then when it comes to spiritual goals. Like for a
person who wishes to ascend or elevate or attain moksha or something; would
have goals the other way. he has to attain a state where he has no desires
left. Where he is thoughtless. He needs to murder his thoughts?
How do you do that?
Spirituality says to simply observe the thoughts as clouds.
To let them come and let them go and simply stay neutral as they come visit
you.
Key here is neutrality. and way is to not participate. May
it be the worst of fear. May it be the best of fantasy. Just sit and observe.
Simply remain detached. And same like eventually, even a person suffering from
insomnia ultimately passes out – even if for few minutes…Like so, you grow in
spirituality – beginning from fraction of second where you don’t think
anything… to that thoughtless state becoming longer and deeper. And that’s how
you meditate better.
And that’s how you even over-come noise!
For a spiritual practitioner, getting rid of noise, helps
him achieve his end goal – thoughtlessness. In 3D, getting rid of noise helps
in focussing our mind and thoughts to simply what we wish for.
That way, there are lesser distractions; lesser leakage of
time, energy and resources. And for sure, one doesn’t lose his/her way by being
overwhelmed with so much and so many!
Avoiding noise, staying focussed, getting rid of unnecessary
thoughts would all help us manifest the life we wish for. Or at least, it would
have us have a cleaner mental space to become efficient in whatever we do or
however we choose to be.
A bonus step in all this can be consciously choosing our
thoughts. Same like mindful consumption of food! Similarly, working upon the
very quality, processing, triggers, inspirations, of our thoughts – to
eventually upgrade the quality and outcome of those thoughts in our life!
How to have conscious thoughts?
There can actually be few steps to consciously and softly
motivate our thoughts to become holistic poetry ultimately taking us towards
our most potent self - living out loud in our reality!
First step would of course be by keeping a check upon what
it consumes! Handpick the media you consume, the friends you keep, the
conversations you pay any heed to, the people you react to.
Remember that not every battle is yours. Choose your battles
very carefully and invest your energy only where necessary.
Our language is the ultimate mirror of our mind and soul.
Always ensure that you choose right and good words. Trash talk is all teenager
stuff. While it feels great to at times abuse someone really deserving of it.
But words carry spell and energy of their own. Why fill your head with trash or
negative energy filled balloons.
Always keep a check upon your direction of thought process.
Even with your own self. Our mind has a tendency to get over excited or
suddenly melancholic. And then, once the anchor gets down, it gets heavy and
the entire ship gets stopped randomly. Or if the thread gets cut, the kite
loses control and eventually falls down after a short flight of its own.
Balance is essential. And keeping a check and careful
observation to where the stream of consciousness is going – at all times.
Always think of best and worst scenarios in all planning.
That way, you won’t be scared of the worst but would be prepared for it. And
you won’t be surprised with the best and would rather embrace it with grace
when the time gets right.
Always give yourself a reality check and stay grounded.
Regardless how low or high you reach.
Everyone is a human after all. Everyone was born naked and
would die and become nothing. All this pomp and show is just here in these few
limited years. regardless who does what, ultimately, everything and everyone
would be nothing. This one reminder would always help you stay not just
grounded but also would keep you away from random lower emotions like greed or
envy or what not. Also, it would help you stay closer to your divine self.
Remember, that if you are doubtful about something then
maybe its not meant for you. of course, all that after you have worked upon
your sub conscious beliefs and fears. If you are really aligned with your inner
voice – then always check with it – anytime you are given a choice. Your inner
voice would always give you a clear Yes or No, while the rest of the world may
say otherwise. Remember, that’s just noise. The cost should never be your inner
voice.
Always choose humanity and empathy over any amount of
profit. The 3D may try to dissuade you. but no amount of money can ever fulfil
you the way emotional fulfilment or humanity does. Always choose nobility,
grace, humanity, empathy, love.
The more you would love the right things, qualities, people;
the more successful you would be. It may take time. but never compromise with
the quality. That’s your legacy.
With a little bit of fine tuning, and a lot of positive
affirmations; with very selective consumption and interactions; with laser
sharp focus – you can actually alchemise a simple thought into a successful
unbelievable reality!
Given a blank canvas and all the qualities that I had
described earlier – what would you have painted? Given a choice to be anyone
and have any kind of life – who and how do you see yourself living it as? Think
about it.
Everything is possible. Life is but an illusion. It is all
energy. What we see around, what we think and feel. Just allow that inner
artist to sing freely, paint insanely, talk purposefully, cook soulfully and think
magically!
